About Project

INDICATIVE PRICE: from 20 USD / SECOND
3D or even 2D animation requires significant prior consultation. We expect animation samples from our clients before starting each project. From these, we can assess the needs, the quality of rendering required, the external characteristics of the implementation. An integral part of animation design is scriptwriting after the storyboarding. Which, in a simple form, sketches the images and movements of the camera. This is an important process, because without this design phase, many subsequent changes would be necessary, which would make the costs very high. When creating a quote, we calculate the time and technology invested. What’s included in the breakdown price (depending on the complexity of the project, of course) for a moderately complex project:

Finalization of the script (1 week)
Keyframe graphic design and storyboard presentation (4 days)
Modeling, (3-4 days)
Texture, UV-edition (3-4 days) – (can be reduced with the right quality)
Polishing, composition design (1-2 weeks)
Rendering – renting render farm services, (this can vary greatly depending on project details and the rendering technology) (5 days)
Finalization / cutting: adding music, disc narration, possibly some small edits, conversions (3-4 working days)

Either way, we provide you wireframes between project phases – short demo videos can be used to control workflows and to validate if our work corresponds to your requirements.

Rendering is the process by which a computer creates images using a software. Of course, there are several types of render engines that can run at different speeds, in different qualities. It usually takes 3-4 minutes to calculate a beautiful, almost realistic image. (of course, it also varies depending on the complexity of the project)

INDICATIVE PRICE: from 14 USD / SECOND

Creating an animation is a unique task – for example for a website or for product development – because of course every animation is different (if it wasn’t, it would be awkward 🙂). We therefore cannot provide an exact unit price. There is no right answer to the question “How much 2 minutes of 2D animation costs?”. It depends on your requests, number and detail of patterns, narrative and musical royalties… And our price is always based on the actual work provided.
The final price is fixed after the elaboration of the screenplay or script. For this, we are often have discussion via mail, telephone or personal conversations.

Maybe you know your budget, but you don’t have an idea for your project yet?
To help you

We have collected some of our works in diffeerent styles. We indicated the magnitude of work and the price range for below, based on an animation duration of 2 minutes. This will help you choose the animation style that suits your budget and your project.
So what does our price include? We offer you a detail of our activity and our work. Here are the main and major steps of the development of an animation:

The animations development department consists of several smaller, interrelated departments and tasks. They can be grouped as follows (The time indication is based on an animation of approximately 2 minutes):

We start with writing and finalizing the script (1 week) which will serve as support for the creation of the animation. It is a period of frequent information exchanges with the customer.
Graphic design of key images and presentation of the storyboard (3-4 days)
Creation of movement and pattern animation as described in the script (1.5 to 2 weeks)
Finalization. At this stage, we find and add the music. Then we record the lyrics and add the sound effects. After that, we make the last modifications, the last adjustments. Finally, we finish by converting the animation into the different useful formats: mp4, mov, mpeg-2, mkv…

1. Online Packshots /// 15 USD – 35 USD / finalized IMAGE

With packshot photography, we photograph products in front of a white background. This makes it possible to highlight the characteristics of the product in order to provide an objective representation of reality.

2. Product Photography (Product design) /// 80 EUR – 230 EUR / finalized IMAGE

Unlike packshots, product photos can be used to give more atmosphere to the illustration. This makes it possible to reinforce the attractiveness of the photo and to generate interest by means of the photo.

You can contact me, via mail or phone call. (English / French)

Before we start to work together, I always send a basic working contract which  protects both of our interests. It can be modified if the project requires it.

In 3D Animation significant reduction is achievable if there are client provided models. If there's script for the story, which can describe the vision and visuals of the project. If we can use third party models and scenery for the project.

To make the creation of your 2D animation easier and rather fast, it is advantageous to use an already designed template. Of course we know that each client has different needs and style. For this we modify the templates with each new use for our customers. That can really cut on the animation prices.

In case of film shooting, you need to have a well prepared script or screenplay, so we can understand your ideas and asses your needs. We can book the right equipment, lights, cameras and crew for you. A well written script can save days in a film shooting process.

About Progress

Nowadays it is more and more common that we get a requests for animation projects to be done in a week. Why is this unrealistic?

Let’s start with the administrative formalities: the study and acceptance of the estimate, the signing of the contract. Mainly on the clients’ side, this can take up to a week. But let’s be careful and – as always, optimistic – let’s assume that this process goes quicker!

In the case of animation (especially in 3D), it is the most expensive and time-consuming technology, so it is very important that the preparatory stages are done with precision: creating the script and then the storyboard.

Why?

We don’t start building a house without plans, so we don’t start animating without a client-approved storyboard. Because the customers can be very disappointed when they are confronted with the fact that the film, the camera movements, the events are not meeting their needs or are different from what they had imagined and then the modification can be difficult and costly. Or sometimes it is impossible, and in these cases, restarting the development will result in double cost!

If we have a storyboard, the client can verify that the visual style, layout, effects and movements meet their requirements, so that they don’t have to guess the visuals – in about 99% of the cases differently – then everything immediately becomes clear and easy. Without it, it takes ten times more energy and is much more time consuming to accomplish it.

So: if the script and the storyboard is available with detailed content (narration + visual world) then the development time takes up to 1-3 weeks. Then come the post processes, like lighting, color grading and editing. This can take another 2-4 days, depending on content and length. So the work takes longer.

Well, roughly:
2D: drawing, animation, effects – 2-7 weeks

3D: modeling, texturing, lighting, animation and rendering – 4-10 weeks

And we must also mention the almost unavoidable changes that are an essential part of the three phases (script / animation/ post-process).

It’s unpredictable what new information the customer would like to add along the way, what they see but don’t like, how many last-minute ideas come up, and need to be changed, etc… It is therefore worth to note another 3 working days for changes!

From the above mentioned points you can see how complex and time-consuming the process of creating an animation is.

One year, with all of the raw footages and project files musics, additional files.

After one year I reduce the project keeping only the final Export and render able project files.

No.

Only if we agree upon that at the project start. This must be stated in the contract. - (can raise the project's cost.)
